The plan is to build a double-track new line between Heidenau and Ústí nad Labem. The core of the route is a minimum 25-kilometre base tunnel through the Erzgebirge, which will cross the state border. The new line will enable the journey between Dresden and Prague in about one hour. It is therefore also an important section of the pan-European rail network. Deutsche Bahn works closely with the Czech railway infrastructure management SŽDC. A joint planning contract will be drawn up, which will regulate the planning for the construction of the cross-border tunnel.
With this further international project, the EPLASS CDE platform once again proves its strength in the infrastructure sector.
