The British Museum is dedicated to human history, art and culture, and its permanent collection has approximately 8 million works. The museum is among the largest and most comprehensive in the world and works originate from all continents, illustrating and documenting the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present.


CEMAR has proved an invaluable resource to the contracts management office at the British Museum. We are a small team and keeping on top of NEC contract administration can be both challenging and time consuming. By using the CEMAR platform to manage process and organise documentation, we are able to work more efficiency and greatly improve communication with our contractors.

The Outcome
The museum has been using thinkproject's CEMAR platform since 2013 to administer its term maintenance works through an integrated facilities maintenance contract. Approximately 2,000 Task Orders have been managed in the system with over 4,000 communications administered compliantly and consistently with visibility across the supply chain.

The challenges of managing a significant heritage site with a small team require innovation and efficiency in contract administration. The CEMAR software is recognised as a key enabler for administering Term Service Contracts efficiently whilst preserving compliance with the NEC contract.
